Lake Caldaro is the largest natural lake suitable for swimming in South Tyrol and the warmest lake in the Alps. It is roughly 1.8 km long and 0.9 km wide. It reaches a maximum depth of 4 m.
The east and west shores of the lake feature bathing facilities, green areas for sunbathing, a swimming pool and various restaurants. The southern shore of Lake Caldaro is a splendid biotope rich in reed beds, and can only be reached via a jetty.
Rowing boats, pedal boats and surfboards can all be hired along the lake shores. Motor boats are not allowed.
Anglers can collect their fishing permit from the Tourist Office.
