“Closed farms” are part of the tradition of South Tyrol. The term “closed farm” indicates a legal arrangement whereby a farm is inherited by one child only and therefore not split up among several heirs. This means that it is maintained as one single residential and business unit, thus guaranteeing the survival of family farms.
I, Andreas, took over the farmstead and surrounding apple orchards in 2018, and in 2019 I converted the old house into a new one, including 4 holiday flats. The new Apfelhof was opened in summer 2020 and expanded in 2023 with a 5th holiday apartment.
Silvia, my wife and the mother of our children Elias and Simon, looks after the guests and is your reference point for any queries or information. My parents and I look after the apple orchards. We grow the apple varieties Gala, Golden, Granny Smith, Kanzi, Fuji, Envy and Red Delicious.
It is a pleasure for us to involve you in our farming life and offer you a unique vision of apple growing in South Tyrol. Come and see us so you can get to know the various aspects of farming life throughout the year, our work in the apple orchards and, of course, sample the delights of our freshly picked apples.
We are pleased to organize guided tours of the farm on request.
